Matthew Anderson
Matthew Anderson is the founding headmaster of the Chesterton Academy of St. George. A strong supporter of traditional liberal arts education, Mr. Anderson brings to Chesterton Academy nearly a decade of experience in Catholic education. He received his BA in Philosophy from Christendom College in Front Royal, VA, and further earned a MA in Systematic Theology from the Graduate School of Christendom College. He has had numerous articles published on such websites as Crisis Magazine and the Catholic Thing focusing on Catholic formation and culture. He and his wife Elizabeth reside in Jackson, MI with their five beautiful children.
Jack Carter
Having earned his BA in Liberal Arts from Wyoming Catholic College in 2014, Mr. Carter moved to Ann Arbor in 2015 with his wife, Alena. There, he tutored for St. Augustine's Homeschool Enrichment Program for 7 years, teaching literature, Latin, history, philosophy and the scriptures, among other subjects. Now, he has brought his pedagogical joy and skill to bear to the Chesterton Academy of St. George, where he teaches the humanities. Mr. Carter recently completed a Master of Arts in Systematic Theology and Sacred Scripture from Christendom College's Graduate School.
Dr. Joseph Torres
Dr. Torres entered the Catholic Church in his freshman year of college at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he earned his BS in Mathematics in 2011. He then taught high school mathematics in South Louisiana for three years until God called him to Graduate School. He completed his PhD in 2020 and taught Math at Victoria College in Texas for 2 years before moving to Michigan. Dr Torres currently teaches Math and Choir at the Chesterton Academy of St George.
Ms. Anna Hendrickson
Born and raised a Catholic, here in Jackson Mi, Anna graduated from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids , Mi in 2015 with a Bachelors in Psychology and a minor in Biology.
After working for a few years in the medical field, Ms. Hendrickson felt called to a change of career. Through prayerful discernment and direction she made the decision to become a teacher of science.
She is a true believer that the sciences reveal God's love for us and she loves sharing that idea with her students. Anna currently teaches the sciences, as well as Early Church History
John Paul Hendrickson
Mr. Hendrickson earned his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2019 from Grand Valley State University where he also met his wife, Valerie. He joined Chesterton Academy of St George in 2023 as the Director of Development after spending the past 4 years in Grand Rapids, working as a Realtor and an apartment leasing agent. In his free time, he enjoys weight lifting, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
RJ Lomas - Executive Director
Mr. Lomas brings over 25 years of experience and many skills to our growing school including Principal (St. Mary Williamston), Teacher, Director of Enrollment (U of D Jesuit), Director of Admissions and Financial Aid (U of D Jesuit), Athletic Director (U of D Jesuit High School), and Management Team member (Shrine, U of D Jesuit) with proficiency in Principles and Techniques of Fundraising (IUPUI).
Most recently, he served seven years as the principal of St. Mary Catholic, classical school in Williamston.
In his spare time, Mr. Lomas resides on a small, gentleman’s farm in Williamston where he has raised sheep, pigs, chickens and a dog named Scout. He is a gardener and likes to get his hands dirty.
